Kent Back ‘Home’

Ernie Kent returned to his alma mater to the job he has coveted since his playing days 20 years ago - men’s basketball coach at the Universtity of Oregon.

Kent, coach at St. Mary’s for six seasons, promised the Oregon job was no steppingstone to another position.

Oregon, he said, is where he wants to stay.

He met his wife in Eugene. The youngest of his three children is named McKenzie, for the river that joins the Willamette on the outskirts of town.
