C’Da Ties Sandpoint On Kovatch’s Late Kick
Ty Kovatch scored with 12 seconds left Friday, allowing Coeur d’Alene to tie visiting Sandpoint 3-3 in a North Idaho League boys soccer match featuring five yellow cards.
The teams slogged through a rugged, scoreless first half. Jason Campbell’s penalty kick at 48 minutes gave Sandpoint the edge, but Ben Davis of the Vikings (5-2-1, 5-0-1) answered with a direct free kick and a 25-yard shot.
Sandpoint seized back the edge when Andy Schaudt scored after a scramble in front of the net, then Ryan Farwell added a goal 6 minutes later, at 83 minutes.

The Eagles received a pair of six-hit complete games, from Tyler Hall in the opener and Jason Phillipe in the second game. Hall struck out eight, Phillipe five.
