The fund-raising “Pin Auction” that precedes the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club’s annual K&K Spring Fishing Derby is set for April 19 at the Elks Club in Sandpoint.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. The auction will begin at 7.

This is not an auction for good buys on merchandise. Anglers bid on lapel pins that will distinguish them as advocates for fish conservation. The club is the leading force in preserving and restoring the lake’s trout and kokanee fisheries.

The fishing derby, which has categories and prizes for age groups and fishing styles, is April 26-May 4. , DataTimes
