Al Skinner, who coached Rhode Island to 20-win seasons the past two years, was hired as basketball coach at Boston College.

Boston College has been looking for a coach since Jim O’Brien left to take the Ohio State job two weeks ago. Last season, Boston College was 23-9, won the Big East postseason tournament and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
