Wv Girls Continue Softball Domination
Frontier League
West Valley strengthened its hold on first place in Frontier League softball Friday by using the same method that has worked all season.
In a word, domination.
Darcy Sohns won twice and the Eagles (9-0) outhit East Valley 19-10 in an 8-2, 7-1 sweep at EV.
EV (6-2) actually scored more runs during the day than WV has allowed in seven previous games. The Eagles have outscored league rivals 120-5.
Rachiah Boxley’s two-run double during a five-run sixth inning sparked WV in the opener. Jennifer Robinson, Andrea Green and Rachelle Watson tripled during WV’s four-run sixth in the second game.

The host Knights (8-0-0, 24 points) continue to set the pace in league as Randy Pratt set up one goal and scored another in East Valley’s second 2-0 win this year over the Eagles (4-4-0, 12).
Late in the first half, Pratt took a restart from just inside midfield and delivered a bending pass that Tony Pass converted into his seventh goal. Pratt added a penalty-kick goal after a WV defender pulled down Sean Lanphere in the goal box on a breakaway.

Nick Reynolds scored his 16th and 17th goals of the season and fed Nate Gosse for another score as the second-place Blackhawks (7-1-0, 21) topped the visiting Cardinals (2-5-1, 7).
Gosse also crossed a pass to Ryan Waller for a header. ML’s Andy John scored his team-high third goal. Cheney beat ML 4-2 earlier in the season.
