West Valley strengthened its hold on first place in Frontier League softball Friday by using the same method that has worked all season.
In a word, domination.
Darcy Sohns won twice and the Eagles (9-0) outhit East Valley 19-10 in an 8-2, 7-1 sweep at EV.
EV (6-2) actually scored more runs during the day than WV has allowed in seven previous games. The Eagles have outscored league rivals 120-5.
Rachiah Boxley’s two-run double during a five-run sixth inning sparked WV in the opener. Jennifer Robinson, Andrea Green and Rachelle Watson tripled during WV’s four-run sixth in the second game.
