Lionel Roux found a way to cool off the hot streak of Thomas Johansson. Now comes Richard Krajicek, who has produced whatever big shots he needed all week to reach the Japan Open final.

“Every great server you can break maybe one time,” 16th-seeded Roux said of Krajicek after beating Johansson 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 in the semifinals.

Top-seeded Krajicek, meanwhile, overcame sixth-seeded Patrick Rafter’s acrobatic play with a big serve and booming returns in a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 victory.
