Bert Porter Veradale

Service for Bert O. Porter, 93, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Pines Cemetery.

Mr. Porter, who died Friday, was born in West Virginia.

He was an 88-year Veradale resident and was a produce farmer.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ.

Mr. Porter is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth Porter; a son, Bert Porter of Spokane; and a sister, Mabel Campbell of Anaheim, Calif.

Merle Kinder Spokane

No service will be held for Merle L. Kinder, at his request. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kinder, who was born in Bridgeport Wash., died Wednesday. He was 87.

He had lived in Spokane for 55 years and worked as a mechanic for James J. Williams Trucking for 29 years.

Mr. Kinder was a member of the Danish Brotherhood, Eagles Lodge No. 2 and the Sons of Norway.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna; and a daughter, Sharon Kinder of Olympia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Viking Plass Retirement Condominiums.
