Mildford Wildman Coeur d’Alene

Visitation for Mildford Ottis Wildman, 99, will be held Monday from 9-10 a.m. at the Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens. Mr. Wildman, who was born in Oklahoma, died Tuesday as a result of burns suffered in a grass burning accident.

He moved to the Coeur d’Alene area in 1954, and lived in Mica Flats and was a farmer.

Mr. Wildman had also worked as a deliveryman on an egg route for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah, in 1979.

Survivors include two sons, Lester Wildman of Coeur d’Alene and Richard Wildman of Oregon; two daughters, Lola Anderson and Vera Weniger, both of Coeur d’Alene; 15 grandchildren and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the burn unit at Northwest Burn Foundation, 1515 N.W. 52nd Street, Suite A, Seattle, WA 98107.

Robert Giesa Spokane

Vigil service for Robert Lee Giesa, 70, is planned for 7 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with burial at the Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Giesa, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Wednesday.

He was a graduate of Gonzaga Preparatory School and attended Eastern Washington University.

Mr. Giesa had worked for the City of Spokane as an appraiser and retired as the housing development branch chief of the Department of Housing and Urban Development in Spokane after more than 20 years.

He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, the Gonzaga Booster’s Club and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Virginia Giesa; three sons, Greg, Gary and Todd Giesa, all of Spokane; three daughters, Nancy Wideman, Debbie Ozust and Melinda Snyder, all of Spokane; two brothers, William Giesa of Coeur d’Alene and Donald Giesa of Whidbey Island, Wash.; two sisters, Marguerite Bruya and Mary Louise Downey, both of Spokane; and 13 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities.

Bernadine Rae Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Bernadine M. Rae, 76, was held Friday. Burial followed at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rae, who was born in Harrison, Idaho, died Wednesday.

She had worked as a telephone operator in Harrison before moving to Bremerton, where she worked in the Naval yard as a courier.

Mrs. Rae received a teachers certificate from Washington State College and taught school in Spokane, later receiving a degree for social work.

She moved to Washington D.C. and worked for Catholic Charities and also as a case social worker. She later taught instrument flying for the Coast Guard in Boston.

Mrs. Rae retired in 1973 and moved to Post Falls before moving to Tennessee in 1977. She lived in Tennessee for 13 years then moved to Coeur d’Alene.

Survivors include her husband, Page.

Theresa Gustin Newport, Wash.

Graveside service for Theresa Violet Gustin, 65, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River, Idaho. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gustin, who died Tuesday, was born in Marshall, Minn.

She married Darold Gustin Sr., in Richmond, Va., and they moved to Priest River in 1956. She was a homemaker.

Her husband died in 1982 and Mrs. Gustin moved to Newport in 1984.

She is survived by two sons, Steven and Darold Gustin Jr., both of Newport; four daughters, Pattie King of Quincy, Wash., Helen Graff of Minneapolis, Dale Shorts of Pendleton, Ore., and Romona Glanders of Spokane; her mother, Bernice Lentz of Hutchinson, Minn.; a brother, Andrew Straumann Jr., of Illinois; a sister, Rosalie of California; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Edna Falsetto Kellogg

Memorial service for Edna Vivian Falsetto, 82, will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will take place at the Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Falsetto, who was born in Endicott, Wash., died Wednesday.

She moved to North Idaho in 1930 from Endicott and worked as a cook at several local schools, including Kellogg High School for many years.

Mrs. Falsetto was a member of the Pythian Sisters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in 1988.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Mescher of Hayden Lake, Idaho; a son, Albert Falsetto Jr. of Bremerton; two grandchildren, one stepgranddaughter and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Shoshone County Humane Society.

Virginia Nesbitt Reardan, Wash.

Memorial service for Virginia G. Nesbitt, 67, is set for 2 p.m. today at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Reardan. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Nesbitt, a retired teacher, died Wednesday.

She was born in Melvindale, Mich. and graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor of science degree. She then interned in dietetics at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and later earned a master’s degree in education from Albertson’s College of Idaho.

Mrs. Nesbitt taught for more than 20 years in Caldwell, Idaho, and retired in 1992.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Reardan, the Order of the Eastern Star in Meridian, Idaho, the Country Samplers Quilting Club of Reardan and the Idaho Education Association.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Sherman Nesbitt; four sons, Robert Nesbitt of Portland, Steve Nesbitt of Elk Grove, Calif., Tom Nesbitt of Reardan and Glen Nesbitt of San Francisco; a brother, Bob Scheuffele of Nampa, Idaho; and four grandchildren.

Lloyd Goetz Jr. Spokane

Service for Lloyd A. Goetz Jr., was held at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

Mr. Goetz, 55, died Sunday.

He was born in Coeur d’Alene and attended Kinman Business College.

Mr. Goetz retired from the Washington State Department of Motor Vehicles as the assistant regional director of the Department of Licensing. He had also worked at the Coeur d’Alene Greyhound Park and for Safeco Insurance.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; a son, Kenneth of Minnesota; his mother, Evelyn, and a brother, Duane, both of Spokane; a sister, Wendy Bright of Canby, Ore.; and two grandchildren.

Lawrence Strandenaes Medical Lake

Funeral Mass for the Rev. Lawrence Charles Strandenaes, 79, was Friday at the Immaculate Conception Church of the Society of St. Pius X in Post Falls. Burial was at the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Born in Norway, the Rev. Strandenaes died Sunday.

He came to Spokane 11 years ago from Montana.

The Rev. Strandenaes was ordained in 1943 at St. Johns University in Collegeville, Minn., and was a member of the Society of St. Pius X.

Survivors include a brother, Bjorn Strandenaes of Sweden.

Leatha Edwards Spokane

Service for Leatha Lois Carpenter Edwards, is planned for 2 p.m. Monday at the Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery in Deer Park.

Mrs. Edwards, a former Spokane resident, died Wednesday.

She was born in Minco, Okla., and had lived in Spokane since 1990.

Her first husband, Orville Carpenter, died in 1966, while they were living in Oregon.

Mrs. Edwards moved to the Deer Park area, and operated the Antlers Cafe and Lounge in Deer Park.

She later married Duane Edwards and they lived in Loon Lake, Wash. They were divorced after 10 years.

She is survived by a son, Lynn Carpenter of Deer Park; and a sister, Ila Hausser of Conrad, Mont.
