Garlic Takes The Spotlight

What’s that pungent aroma? It’s the smell of a few Italian restaurants in Spokane getting caught up in the excitement of a garlic festival in California.

Local restaurants will be showcasing garlic-studded specials this weekend to coincide with the annual Gilroy Garlic Festival.

Fittingly, Garlic City is participating, offering a garlic feast that will include salad and soup bar, pastas with fresh garlic, and loads of garlic bread for $9.95.

Luigi’s is running a couple of specials and will serve a garlic-seasoned onion “steak” on the side.

At Europa, diners will get their own head of roasted garlic to spread on their bread.

Don’t forget the breath mints.
