Baranova, Reiss Shoot Starzz To Win

Elena Baranova and Tammy Reiss each scored 17 points to lead the Utah Starzz to a 73-70 WNBA victory over the Charlotte Sting Monday night in Salt Lake City.

It was the first time the Starzz have won back-to-back games this season.

Andrea Stinson led the Sting with 15 points and Vicky Bullett added 13 points and had a game-high 10 rebounds.

Mercury 83, Monarchs 60

Bridget Pettis scored 23 points and Toni Foster added 16 points and eight rebounds as Phoenix beat visiting Sacramento to snap a six-game losing streak.

Jennifer Gillom had 14 points and Marlies Askamp 12 for the Mercury. Ruthie Bolton-Holifield had 22 points for the Monarchs, who dropped to 5-14 with their ninth straight loss. Latasha Byears added seven points and 12 rebounds for Sacramento.
