Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Another paint tip. When I finish using oil-based paint I put vegetable oil on my hands (not the brushes). I spread the oil on my hands the way one would if using soap. Then I use dish detergent to wash it all away. Easy, no toxic fumes and the job is well done. Paula Freilich, Ardmore, Pa.

Dear Heloise: I’d like to pass this hint on to all the women who have narrow shoulders and constantly have their shoulder bags slide off.

My mom sewed a large flat button on the shoulder of her jacket in a matching color. She places her bag strap around the button. No more annoying bag sliding down her arm. - Nancy, Matawan, N.J.
