Nettie Barker Silverton, Idaho

Memorial service for Nettie Tersia McClain Barker, 91, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Pinehurst (Idaho) Community Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Barker, who was born on Valentines Day in Big Cedar Okla., died Thursday at the Silverwood Good Samaritan Center in Silverton.

She owned Lee’s Grocery, one of the first grocery stores in Pinehurst. She later became the first postmistress in Pinehurst and retired after 33 years.

Mrs. Barker was a charter member of the Community Baptist Church.

She married Lee McClain in 1924. He died in 1972.

In 1976 she married Bill Barker. He died in 1978.

Survivors include a son, Hoyt McClain of Pinehurst, three stepsons, Ed Barker of Silverton, Bob Barker of Wenatchee and Don Barker of Tacoma; a sister, Eunice Moyer of Valiant, Okla.; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Baptist Church Mission Fund, Pinehurst, ID 83850.

Pearl Bradshaw Lewiston

Service for Pearl Elizabeth Bradshaw, 93, is planned for 1 p.m. today at the American Lutheran Church in Kellogg. Burial will follow at Shoshone Memorial Gardens. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bradshaw, who died Thursday at her home, was born in Sheldon, Texas.

She married Dewey Bradshaw and they moved to Pinehurst, Idaho. She was the cook for the Wardner Hospital in Kellogg and retired in 1959. She had lived in Lewiston since 1980.

Mrs. Bradshaw was a member of the American Lutheran Church, the Pinehurst Senior Citizens and the Rose Lake Order of Easter Star No. 84.

Her husband died in 1967.

Survivors include four sisters, Grace Byrne of Kingston, Idaho, and Alice Wenger, Joy Vaughn and her twin sister, Agnes Miller, all of Lewiston; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Mariann Hogin Spokane

Service for Mariann Hogin, 70, will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Hogin, who was born in Walnut Grove, Minn., died Thursday.

She graduated form Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn.

She worked as the Associate Director of Student Development for Whitworth College for a few years.

Mrs. Hogin was an organist for St. Luke Lutheran Church and was a member of the Tau Mu Tau Sorority.

Survivors include her husband, Dick; six sons, Lee Nordstrom of Spokane, Paul Nordstrom of Marquette, Mich., David Nordstrom of Spokane, James Hogin of Oklahoma City, Okla., Glen Hogin of Boise and Ross Hogin of Seattle; a daughter, Kay Holberg of Spokane; a brother, Donald Anderson of Walnut Grove, Minn.; a sister, Judy Kerstin of Malta Bend, Mo.; and 15 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church.

Bruce Jorgensen Bellingham

Service for Bruce L. Jorgensen, 47, will be at 1 p.m. today at Jones-Moles Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Bellingham. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent, Wash.

Mr. Jorgensen, a former Spokane resident, died Wednesday.

He was born in Lexington, Ky.

He was a graduate of Michigan State University and Gonzaga University School of Law.

Mr. Jorgensen worked as a Spokane County public defender and was a bailiff with the Spokane County Superior Court.

He moved to Bellingham 11 years ago and joined the staff of the Whatcom County public defender’s office. He served as the supervising attorney of the Juvenile Court Division of the public defender’s office for many years.

His memberships included the Spokane County and Whatcom County Bar associations.

Survivors include his father, Carl Jorgensen of Tuscon, Ariz.; a sister, Carol Darling of Seattle; two stepsisters, Diane Pautler and Barbara Jeffries, both of Tucson; a stepbrother, Richard Jeffries of Phoenix, Ariz.

Susan Barcklay Spokane

Memorial service for Susan Barcklay, 75, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Unity Church of Truth.

Born in Portland, Mrs. Barcklay died July 30.

She graduated from Pendelton (Ore.) High School and Whitman College and received a master’s degree in library science from Simmons College in Boston.

She was a corporate librarian for Price Waterhouse in New York City.

She later returned to Oregon and worked as a librarian for Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore. She then worked at Geiger Field in Spokane, and as director of the Spokane County Library District from 1965 to 1974.

Mrs. Barcklay briefly worked for the North Carolina State Library Association in Raleigh, N.C. She returned to Spokane and worked at the Washington Library in Newport, Wash., where she retired in the early 1980s.

She is survived by her companion, Harold Olson of Spokane; a stepdaughter, Sharon Jayne of Liberty Lake; a brother, William Sperber of Bellevue, Wash.; and a granddaughter.

Elizabeth Rohrer Newport, Wash.

No service will be held for Elizabeth Margaret Rohrer, 88, at her request. Sherman and Knapp Funeral Home in Newport is in charge of the arrangements.

Born in Mitchell, S.D., Mrs. Rohrer died Thursday.

She moved to Okanogan, Wash., from South Dakota in 1942, and in 1974 moved to Newport.

She married Walter Rohrer. He died in 1992.

Mrs. Rohrer was a homemaker.

She served as the state president of the Washington Homemakers Association in 1959 and was a member of the Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include seven sons; Walter, Ernest, Jay and Samuel Rohrer, all of Newport, Francis Rohrer of Sequim, Wash., and Russell and Rollie Rohrer, both of Brigham City, Utah; two daughters, Marylee Canter of Newport and Sharon of Okanogan, Wash.; 31 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
