Storm, Cyclone Kill Dozens In India
Heavy rains and a cyclone lashed parts of northern India, killing 36 people and injuring 50 others, Indian news agencies reported Monday.
High winds roared through the eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, wreaking havoc on at least 2,000 villages, the Press Trust of India reported.
Thatched huts collapsed and cattle died in the storm. Power and telephone lines were cut and potato and mustard crops were damaged, the report said.
