North Carolina’s Mack Brown will be the next football coach at the University of Texas, a source told The Associated Press.

Brown, whose Tar Heels are ranked seventh in the country and are a candidate for an Alliance Bowl berth, was interviewed Wednesday and was offered the job later in the day, the source said.

As predicted, Doug Williams is returning to Grambling State University as the successor to his old coach, Eddie Robinson.
