Jerry Manuel, who was bench coach for the World Series champion Florida Marlins last year after six years as thirdbase coach at Montreal, has been named the manager of the Chicago White Sox.

A full World Series share for the champion Florida Marlins was $188,467.55. The American League champion Cleveland Indians, which lost to Florida in seven games, received $113,225.98 a player.

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays signed free-agent outfielder Dave Martinez to a two-year contract.
