Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Last summer I was ladling spaghetti sauce into canning jars and making a mess. I cut a plastic gallon-size milk jug in half and recycled the bottom half.

I inverted the top half and placed it over each canning jar as I ladled the sauce into it. It made a perfect funnel, with a hole wide enough for chunks of tomato to go through. - Ria, Vienna, Va.

Dear Heloise: I am a craft person and do a lot of painting. I lay wax paper under my wood pieces to catch the paint drips. I change the paper often.

When my painted articles are dry to the touch, I stack them for further drying with wax paper between and they never stick together and ruin delicate paintings.

It is just the right width and inexpensive to use. I also use wax paper in between layers of cookies and candy in my metal tins at Christmastime. I cut it round to fit the tins. Ferne R. Nicolaisin, Cherokee, Iowa
