Union Pacific Falls Further Behind
Union Pacific Corp.’s grain deliveries are falling further behind schedule, even as the largest U.S. railroad reports progress in improving other parts of its nationwide freight logjam.
According to the railroad’s latest statistics, loaded grain cars took almost 31 days to travel from Nebraska to Pacific Northwest ports in the week ending Dec. 5, more than three times the 8.3 days it took to make the trip a year ago. A week earlier, trains covered that ground in 21 days.
