Cbs Will Shelve ‘Cybill’

New York Daily News

“Cybill,” which has been one of CBS’ brightest lights since debuting three years ago, has dimmed so much this season that the network has now decided to shelve it for a couple of months.

Starting Jan. 5, the Cybill Shepherd sitcom will be replaced by a midseason series called “Style & Substance.”

The new series, which stars Jean Smart (“Designing Women”) in a role that sort of spoofs Martha Stewart, along with Nancy McKeon (“The Facts of Life”), will air Mondays at 9:30 p.m. “George & Leo,” now airing at 9:30 p.m., will move to 9 p.m., bumping “Cybill” from the lineup.

CBS said “Cybill” will return to the schedule following the Winter Olympics in February.
