Angel Fairbanks scored 19 points, including two free throws with 30 seconds left, as Rogers edged Shadle Park 50-48 Friday night to open the Greater Spokane League basketball season.
The Highlanders (2-1) and the Pirates (3-0) traded the lead throughout the game before Monica Abrahamson made two free throws for Rogers to tie the game with a minute left.
Fairbanks had 10 rebounds and Abrahamson eight.
