Gonzaga Storms Back To Take Win

Trailing 17-14 after the first 8 minutes, the Gonzaga Bulldogs reeled off 14 consecutive points and went on to rout the Concordia Cavaliers in a non-conference game played at Martin Centre Saturday.
Gonzaga put together another 14-0 run outside the 6-minute mark and carried a 57-30 lead to halftime.
Sandy Gere led the way, scoring 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting as Gonzaga pushed its record to 4-3. Ten of her teammates scored, including Heather Osberg, who came off the bench to collect 15 points and nine rebounds. Tennille Jeffries and Lydia Ledgerwood put in 10 points apiece.
Forward Rena Ramirez accounted for more than one-third of Concordia’s scoring. She hit 5 of 8 3-pointers on the way to 23 points.
Gonzaga outrebounded Concordia 56-37 and attempted 84 shots, hitting 36. The Bulldogs also piled up 19 steals, helping account for Concordia’s 31 turnovers.

The Sasquatch, beaten only once in nine starts, rolled along with an easy victory over the Wildcats in a nonconference game at Spokane Falls Community College.
Shelley Massingale, making 6 of her 11 field-goal attempts, led the way with 17 points.
Lisa Bradley backed Massingale with 14 points. Alana Carlander scored 12. Kelli Pilkington added 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Sarah Green scored 24 points as the Pilots picked up their sixth consecutive victory over Idaho, defeating the Vandals in a non-league game in Memorial Gym at Moscow, Idaho.
The Pilots improved to 6-2 for the season.
Green made 11 of her 15 shots and her older sister, Kim, chipped in with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting. The Greens and the other member of the front line, Kristin Hepton, from Spokane’s Central Valley High School, combined to shoot 20 for 31.
