Armond Caro Spokane

Service for Armond C. Caro, 91, will be at 1 p.m. today at Sunset Mausoleum at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hennessey-Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Caro, who was born in Wallace, died Friday.

He was a retired chef and received numerous awards and recognitions for his culinary skills.

Mr. Caro worked for several years at the Spokane Club.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie; a daughter, Yvonne Fleck of Spokane; two sons, Ronn and William Caro, both of Spokane; a sister, Madeline Preston of Spokane; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Colton Hawkinson Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Service for Colton Lee Hawkinson also known as Anthony Bourassa, 34, was Saturday in Bonners Ferry. Private burial was held at MacArthur Cemetery near Bonners Ferry. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hawkinson, who was born in Bonners Ferry, died Monday from an extended illness.

He grew up and attended schools in Bonners Ferry. He moved to Texas where he worked as a carpenter for several years.

Mr. Hawkinson then lived in Arkansas before moving to Spokane where he worked as a painter.

He changed his name to Colton Lee Hawkinson and returned to Bonners Ferry in 1996.

Mr. Hawkinson was a member of the Assembly of God Church and the Spokane AIDS Network.

Survivors include his mother, Barbara Martz of Moyie Springs, Idaho; his father, Roland Bourassa of Puyallup, Wash.; a sister, Tammy Bourassa of Weiser, Idaho; three brothers, Phillip Bourassa of Kentucky, and John Steen and Matthew Halverson, both of Bonners Ferry; and his grandparents, Roy and Virginia Grove of Bonners Ferry.

Margaret Walden Spokane

Memorial service for Margaret Walden, 87, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home.

Mrs. Walden, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Thursday.

She graduated in 1928 from North Central High School and later from Northwest Business College.

Mrs. Walden was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Alpha Iota Sorority, Order of the Eastern Star Electa Chapter and was active in Day Out for the Blind.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Harold; a son, Glenn Walden of Ridgecrest, Calif.; a daughter, Janice Solt of Olympia; a brother, Albert DeArmand of Woodinville, Wash.; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or Day Out for the Blind.

Leonard Dunkle Sr. Spokane

Graveside service for Leonard J. Dunkle Sr., 57, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rockford Cemetery. Memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. at Northeast Neighborhood Center. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Dunkle, who was born in Spokane, died Wednesday.

He worked in the mines in Kellogg and the gypsum plant in Spokane.

Mr. Dunkle was a member of citizen band radio groups and several bowling leagues.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Mary; two sons, Leonard Dunkle Jr. and Frederic Dunkle, both of Spokane; two daughters, Theresa Darling of Spokane and Susan Miles of Holly Hills, Fla.; two sisters, Elise Sheard of Mica, Wash., and Ella Mae Caldwell of Victorville, Calif.; and 18 grandchildren.
