Another Player Quits Indiana Basketball Squad
Jason Collier, who last season denied rumors he was unhappy at Indiana, said Thursday he would transfer to another school to play basketball.
The 7-foot sophomore, a former high school Mr. Basketball from Ohio, did not elaborate on why he was leaving. Coach Bob Knight said he believes “his decision is in his best interest as well as ours.”
Collier, who started eight of nine games and averaged 10.7 points per game this season, is the second player to leave the team since last spring. Guard Neil Reed said he quit at Knight’s request and accused the coach of physical and verbal abuse.
