Dear Heloise: Small salt and pepper packets from fast-food places were cluttering my purse and my car. I found that the little plastic canisters that 35mm film comes in work great to organize the packets. Black canisters for pepper and clear canisters for salt. Ben Ann Tomayko, Fort Worth, Texas

Another good use for those 35mm film canisters! Be sure they are thoroughly washed first. An interesting note: You shouldn’t put salt or pepper directly into them because the plastic isn’t considered food grade. Heloise

Dear Heloise: I finally hit onto an idea of how to keep the bathroom floor dry while you shower.

I sewed a couple of pieces of self-gripping fabric tape to our fabric shower curtain, then pressed on the wall two pieces of self-gripping fabric tape with glue on them. Now the curtain closes firmly and not a drop of water falls on the floor!
