Intruder Shot, Killed By Bothell Homeowner

A man who broke into a house was fatally shot by a resident of the home early Sunday morning, police said.

The intruder awakened the homeowners, a husband and wife, about 1:50 a.m., according to a police news release. During a struggle, the intruder was shot.

He died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The homeowners, who were not identified, were not injured. They were the only people in the house.

The suspect’s identity was not immediately known, but police said they believe he was a local resident who had a history of burglary and theft.
