Penn State’s Enis Under Investigation
Penn State officials are investigating conflicting reports that a sports agent allegedly brought All-Big Ten running back Curtis Enis a $400 suit to wear to the ESPN awards show on Dec. 11, according to published reports.
WHGM-TV in Harrisburg, Pa., reported that Houston-based attorney and sports agent Jeff Nalley bought a suit for Enis at a mall on Dec. 6, which would be a violation of NCAA rules.
The station showed credit card receipts from the store with Nalley’s signature and interviewed witnesses that spoke with Enis at the mall.
Enis, who likely would be suspended for the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day if the allegations are proven, said he did receive a new suit, although it was brought by his girlfriend, the Harrisburg Patriot-News reported.
Quarterback Peyton Manning, still recuperating from a knee injury, was at Tennessee’s last Orange Bowl practice before leaving for Florida, but he didn’t take part.
“I’d like to be back for the practice in Miami on Dec. 27. That’s what I’m shooting for,” Manning said.
