Corbin Offers Art Lesson Series For Kids

A series of Saturday workshops for children is being sponsored by the Corbin Art Center this winter.

The sessions, called Circle Saturday, are part of the centennial celebration for the D.C. Corbin House, which was built in 1898 on the hill above Seventh and Stevens.

Children ages 6 to 13 can learn century-old arts and crafts skills and experiment with traditional art methods.

Hand-dipped candles will be made on Jan. 24. On Feb. 7, a session on making Victorian valentines is scheduled. That will be followed a week later with a class on personalized valentines.

The last in the series will be on March 14 when the children will make St. Patrick’s Day hats.

The cost of each session ranges from $9 to $14. To register, call the Spokane Parks Department at 625-6200.
