Letters home

Staff Sgt. “P.J.” Anderson, 41, of Walla Walla, handles personnel services for his unit in Bosnia. He wrote this letter to his wife of 10 years, Terri.

Dear Terri,

I want you to know how proud I am of you. If any one is a hero it is you, this being our second Christmas apart while I fulfill yet another military obligation.

We have a beautiful Christmas tree here. The command spoke of what the tree means to us. To me I envision the look on a child’s face when they first gaze upon it, and it is these little ones that are our hope for a better world. I also see your smile as we prepare our home for family and friends during this season.

I love and miss you very much.
