The schedule of Elderhostel programs in the region is now available from the Washington Elderhostel State Office.

The programs range from week-long history and geology at the Ocean Park Retreat Center to symphony, storytelling, glass art and architecture in Seattle.

Tying the knot

Bride’s Magazine surveys the wacky wedding sites in its February issue and among the destinations on the list are the House of Rocks in Spring Green, Wis., the Richard Nixon Memorial Library in Yorba Linda, Calif., the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico and the Opryland Hotel in Nashville.

Capturing the memory

Shutterbugs can participate in the Best of the Northwest Photo Workshops beginning in late January in locations ranging from the Oregon coast to the Columbia River Gorge.

The first of the three-day workshops is Jan. 23-26 on the Oregon coast (that will be repeated April 24-27, June 26-29 and Oct. 9-12).

A workshop will be held on the Olympic Peninsula Feb. 20-23, at the Columbia River Gorge May 15-18, on Mount St. Helens July 24-27 and on Mount Rainier Sept. 25-28.
