Farm Program Draws Near-Record Crowd

From Staff And Wire Reports

Nearly 6,500 people attended the Pacific Northwest Farm Forum and Ag Expo in January, the second-largest turnout ever, officials said Tuesday.

The annual event, which was held Jan. 14-16, generated total revenue of about $300,000 in ticket and exhibitor sales and sponsorships, said Dennis Fiess, manager of the Spokane Ag Bureau.

Farm Forum/Ag Expo this year drew a record 330 exhibitors, including more than 20 welders. About 375 people paid to attend Farm Forum seminars and 550 high school students participated in the FFA program.

The event’s largest attendance was 7,200 people in 1989 when the Ag Trade Center opened near the Opera House. , DataTimes
