Highlanders Survive Titans’ Late Scare

Vanessa Larkin scored 10 of her career-high 20 points in the third quarter and Shadle Park survived a last-second shot by University to pull out a 42-41 win in a Greater Spokane League girls basketball game at Shadle Park Thursday night.
U-Hi (3-13, 2-10) got the ball with 15 seconds but had it slapped out of bounds with 3 second remaining. The Titans inbounded the ball into the key and launched a shot, but it didn’t drop.
The Highlanders (7-10, 4-9) had a 10-point run in the third quarter but gave back most of their advantage before taking the lead for good with 3 minutes left.
Jaimie Frost finished with 13 points and Crystal Conant added 12 for the Titans. Larkin also had 10 rebounds.
