A young stock car racer was in critical condition after being shot in the head while driving on a freeway overpass. Chris Trickle, who had one win and five top-5 finishes in NASCAR’s Southwest Tour Division this season, was hospitalized with a bullet lodged in his brain.

Trickle is the 24-year-old nephew of Winston Cup regular Dick Trickle.
