Fourth Title Skating Sought

Elizabeth Punsalan and Jerod Swallow began their quest for a fourth U.S. Figure Skating Championships title by winning the compulsory dance.

Winners of the U.S. championship in 1991, ‘94 and ‘96, the married couple from Pontiac, Mich., also won the second dance, the rhumba, getting six 5.9s for presentation. Compulsories are worth 20 percent of the total score.
