Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: While I was having a garage sale, a woman stopped to browse at the many items I had for sale. When she got to my linen table, she commented on how I had my sheets “packaged.”

I told her that I store the fitted and flat sheets and one pillowcase inside the one remaining pillowcase. It is easy to take a set of sheets from the closet to the bedroom without forgetting a piece. It seems to take up less space, and there is no searching for a missing piece. I can even store the sheets in the bedrooms. It makes it easier for the owner of the bed to find the right sheets for the right bed. - Janet Suydam, La Salle, Mich.

What to do with all the newspaper that is stacking up:

Use it to line a birdcage.

Give to a friend who has a new puppy.

Take to the local animal shelter.

Use to protect flooring when re-potting plants.

Use for mulch in the garden. - Heloise
