The Slice Don’t Worry, The Majority Will Slow Down In 10 Weeks

Several readers argued that the streets aren’t where the real tension simmers when it comes to runners sharing space with the rest of us.

Sidewalks are the true pre-Bloomsday battleground, they said.

“I cannot tell you how many times I have been forced off the sidewalk by runners in between the Spokane Club and Browne’s Addition,” said one woman. “It really does get irritating, particularly when most of the runners pushing me off the sidewalk are women.”

Another reader said walking at this time of year typically involves “playing chicken” with joggers.

Slice answer: There were votes for dolphins. And there were votes for butterflies. But we think Emily Perez might have nailed the real answer after we asked what was the most common tattoo in the Spokane area. She thinks it’s “saggy ladies.” You know, that’s what you see when a guy who got a busty-woman tattoo back in his 20s goes around in a tank top many years and a few pounds later.

Look for them this summer.

Hats on: About once a month, someone calls or writes us to complain about Spokane area men and boys no longer taking their hats off indoors. More specifically, these readers note that more than a few wearers of baseball-style caps don’t even take them off during meals.

Well, we don’t have anything helpful to say. But we thought it might be nice for those who object to indoor cap-wearing to know that they are not alone.

Battle of the bands: “We feel the Monkees put the Beatles to shame.” - Tami and Dan Sorensen

Perfect excuse for natives of South Dakota to get together and reminisce: “North By Northwest” airs on KSPS-TV tonight.

Profile of a workplace killer: “They have what co-workers describe as ‘sour personalities’; nothing pleases them.” - The Wall Street Journal Oh, great. That describe about 10,000 people in the Spokane area.

Mooving on: Here are our final words on this subject.

Yes, some cows have horns.
