Eastern’s Skid Reaches 11

J.R. Camel scored a game-high 17 points and handed out four assists and teammate Ryan Dick added 15 points and 12 rebounds Saturday night as Montana bumped off Eastern Washington 74-67 in a Big Sky Conference men’s basketball matchup.

The loss was the 11th straight for EWU (6-19, 2-13 in the Big Sky), which closes its season at home against Idaho State Thursday night. UM (18-10, 10-5) maintained a share of second place in the Big Sky standings and kept alive hopes of landing one of the two first-round byes in the conference tournament.

EWU, which was eliminated from the Big Sky’s six-team tournament several games back, was paced offensively by Travis King’s 16 points.

Teammate Karim Scott added 15 and Michael Lewis chipped in 14.
