Hints From Heloise
Tue., Feb. 25, 1997
Dear Heloise: This clutter-busting tip really worked for our family. In our coat closet, which is just inside the front door, we have an inexpensive over-the-door shoe rack that provides not only a place to put our yard shoes, but also is great for hanging umbrellas, dog leashes and caps. There are no rails or drilling required that will damage the door. It’s a simple solution to our clutter problem, maximizes our precious closet space and keeps things off the floor or in a pile in our closet. - Michele Bennett-Parker, Salisbury, Md.
Dear Heloise: I save used gift wrap for making book covers for those I own and books that I borrow from the library. This can also be used for schoolbooks. I once used fabric to cover a book. - Dorothy Sossamon, Metairie, La. xxxx
Local journalism is essential.
Give directly to The Spokesman-Review's Northwest Passages community forums series -- which helps to offset the costs of several reporter and editor positions at the newspaper -- by using the easy options below. Gifts processed in this system are not tax deductible, but are predominately used to help meet the local financial requirements needed to receive national matching-grant funds.
