6-Year-Old Was Strangled, Denver Newspaper Reports

The killer of a 6-year-old beauty pageant winner found slain in her family’s home placed duct tape over her mouth and tightened a cord around her neck until she died, a newspaper reported.

The Rocky Mountain News, citing an unnamed source, also said in Wednesday’s edition that authorities found evidence the killer may have sexually assaulted the little girl.

In a report Tuesday evening, KCNC-TV in Denver also quoted unnamed sources who said JonBenet Ramsey’s mouth was covered with duct tape.

A Boulder police spokeswoman declined to comment on the reports and said there have been no arrests in the killing of last year’s Little Miss Colorado. JonBenet’s body was discovered last Thursday in the basement of her family’s expensive Boulder home about eight hours after her mother found a ransom note.
