Replacement Named For Gene Moos
U.S. Department of Agriculture officials Friday named a replacement for undersecretary Gene Moos, who has resigned effective Monday.
Moos, who was appointed to the post in 1993, was the highest ranking department official from Eastern Washington. The Edwall, Wash., wheat farmer previously was an aide to former U.S. Rep. Tom Foley and a political consultant in Washington, D.C.
Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman named Dallas Smith, a tobacco farmer turned bureaucrat, to replace Moos temporarily. Smith has served as deputy undersecretary for farm and foreign agricultural services since 1993. , DataTimes
