Hints From Heloise
Dear Heloise: Here are some safety tips you may want to pass along to your readers: Peek out of the peephole or a window before opening the door to leave your house or when someone knocks.
Have keys ready to avoid fumbling.
Immediately lock car and house doors upon entering.
Be alert! Glance around before unlocking car doors to exit; it only takes a second.
When no one’s at home, leave a light on at night and a loud radio or TV on during the day.
Check the house door before entering to see if it’s been unlocked when nobody’s supposed to be there. If so, don’t enter; call the police. - Evelyn from Louisiana
