Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Please let me know how I can remove the wires from an old electric blanket that is no longer working.

I remember reading about it some time ago and it sounded very simple, but I can’t remember how it was done.

I would appreciate your help very much. - Eva Farinacci, San Antonio It really is simple! Naturally, the blanket is unplugged! Just cut open the seam at the end of the blanket and carefully remove the wires and any controls from the inside of the blanket.

Resew the seam and you now have a blanket with many more years of good use. Isn’t this a great money-saving hint! - Heloise

Dear Heloise: Try to have separate baskets or containers for your washables.

You can tell at a glance if you have enough for a load, and if you train the kids, they’ll catch on quickly.

Makes your life just a bit more organized. - Wilma Spivey, Lillian, Ala.
