Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I want to share a game I play with my granddaughters.

I save all the jewelry ads that come in the mail. Then on a day they seem bored, we play paper jewelry. Things needed are paper ads and transparent tape. They get to pick and choose how many items they want to wear. Since I have a 3- and a 9-year-old, I do the cutting for the little one and she waits for her rings and things.

It’s a lot of fun. You have spent time building a memory and not much money is involved, just tape. - Donna Rice, Columbiana, Ohio

Dear Heloise: I’ve been reading you and your mother’s columns for years. Congratulations on the great work!

Here is a hint you might be interested in that I’ve been using in my home.

For attractive wastebaskets, buy baskets for large plants in the garden department of any discount store. They are lined with plastic, which is a big plus! Also, some of them are decorated to make them more appealing. - Lois Sizemore, Marietta, Ohio
