Pittsburgh Win Streak Ends At 14

Valeri Kamensky scored at 3:55 of overtime as the Colorado Avalanche ended Pittsburgh’s 14-game winning streak, winning 4-3 Thursday night in Pittsburgh despite losing a three-goal lead and goaltender Patrick Roy to an injury.

Colorado, already playing without top scorer Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg, lost a lead for the second time in three nights. But the Avalanche managed to overcome Pittsburgh’s three-goal third-period rally. Colorado is 10-1-2 in its last 13 games.

Pittsburgh rookie goaltender Patrick Lalime lost for the first time in 17 NHL starts.

Roy, who has a league-high six shutouts, left with an injured right hand at 13:54 of the first.
