Designer Decal Fire Was Arson, Probe Finds

Arson caused the fire that destroyed an industrial building east of downtown Spokane, fire investigators said Tuesday.

The Friday night fire at Designer Decal Inc., 1120 E. First, was first spotted by a police officer on patrol.

The officer said it appeared the fire began at the front door.

The two-story building, filled with paint, adhesives and solvents, burned for more than two hours.

Investigators are offering a reward for any information leading to the arrest of those responsible. Call the Fire Department at 625-7053.

Authorities also are looking for any residents who photographed or videotaped the fire. Anyone willing to make these items available should call the Sheriff’s Department at 456-3855.
