Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I read your hints every day but never thought I’d send one in. An emergency came up and I thought others could use this idea in a pinch.

As a result of an injury, I am forced to wear a walking (short) cast on my leg. To take a shower, I need to wrap the cast in a towel, pack the top with washcloths, cover everything with a plastic bag, then tie the top and hope everything stays dry.

Then I thought, old pantyhose! Just pack the top, put on the bag, then put on one leg of old hose. The extra leg can then be tied at the top and the cast stays dry as a bone. - Barbara Olsen, San Antonio
