Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Hi! I enjoy your household hints column. Please tell your readers that paper-towel brand names are easy to remember if you stuff the plastic wrapper up inside the paper tube when you start to use them. - Bill, Camarillo, Calif.

Dear Heloise: I’m so excited. The other day I was making homemade potato salad and for the life of me I couldn’t find that darned vegetable peeler. I had an old cheese slicer lying in the drawer and thought I’d give that a try. Guess what! It actually worked pretty well.

I thought I would pass this on to you and maybe you could pass it on to your readers. That old cheese slicer came in pretty handy when it came to peeling those blasted potatoes. I only could go one way, but, what the heck. When worse comes to worst, you use what you have.

I hope this helps someone else who gets in a pinch. - Diane L. Zook, Middletown, Pa.
