Agencies Schedule Construction Party
A construction kick-off celebration will be held Monday at the future home of Spokane’s three economic development organizations.
The festivities begin at 11 a.m. at the former WestOne Building, 9 N. Post, which will house the Spokane Area Chamber of Commerce, the Spokane Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Spokane Area Economic Development Council.
The new center is to be called the Spokane Regional Business Center and will serve as a one-stop information and service center to promote business, tourism and industry throughout the region.
When completed, the center’s first floor will serve as a marketing center showcasing the region’s resources and services. Extensive remodeling will be done on the third and fourth floors for the chamber, CVB and EDC’s offices.
Construction will begin in late July with Lydig Construction as general contractor, Northwest Architectural Co. as the architect and Kiemle and Hagood as property manager.
The three organizations will begin to move into the new building in late fall.
