Woman Inside House Injured When Car Plows Into Room
A 91-year-old woman was critically injured when a car crashed into the house she lived in.
Thelma Johnson was in her room Thursday evening when the car, driven by Soon H. Seon, 36, hit the house, said Rich Link, a communications officer for the Washington State Patrol.
Seon, who was wearing her sealtbelt, was uninjured, Link said.
“The vehicle was traveling northbound on Woods Creek Road when it left the roadway, went down an embankment, through a pasture, striking the house and then the occupant inside the house,” he said.
There were several other people living in the house, which Link believed was a nursing home. No one else was hurt.
Alcohol did not play a role in the collision, said Trooper Jeff Kralman, who was at the scene of the accident.
Johnson was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where she was in critical condition with head injuries, a nursing supervisor said.
