One For The Road

The American Automobile Association, offering roadside assistance and other travel-related services since 1902, is changing its name to AAA. The nonprofit club has grown to 40 million members in the United States and Canada, where the group will continue to be known as the Canadian Automobile Association. The reason given for the name change is the group’s growing involvement in other activities, including banking and insurance. AAA will continue operating as an advocate for travelers. Last year, for instance, the association launched a lobbying campaign for better roads and bridges.
