O’S Palmeiro Rocks Rangers
Rafael Palmeiro again pounded Texas pitching with a two-run homer and three RBIs, and Jeffrey Hammonds went 4 for 5 to lead the visiting Baltimore Orioles past the Rangers 9-3 Tuesday night.
Brady Anderson added three hits, including a three-run double in the sixth inning in his first career start in the No. 4 spot in the order. Geronimo Berroa also had three hits as Baltimore battered Texas pitching for 16 hits.

Tony Clark hit his 24th homer and Bobby Higginson added his 16th as Detroit beat Chicago.
Rookie Brian Moehler (7-8) allowed three runs and six hits in six innings. Todd Jones pitched the ninth for his 17th save.

Jeff Frye broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth with his third hit of the game as Boston rebounded for a win over Oakland.
Scott Hatteberg doubled off Buddy Groom (1-2) with one out in the eighth, Aaron Small intentionally walked Darren Bragg with two outs and Frye singled up the middle.

Shawn Green hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the seventh inning as Toronto turned back Milwaukee.
With Milwaukee leading 2-1, Cal Eldred (9-10) walked Carlos Delgado leading off the seventh and Ed Sprague singled. Mike Fetters relieved and Green connected on a 3-2 pitch for a 4-2 lead.

David Cone (11-4) allowed five hits in 7-2/3 shutout innings, sending Anaheim to just its second loss in 14 games.
Pat Kelly hit a three-run homer and Paul O’Neill added a solo shot as the consecutive homers helped the Yankees build a 9-0 lead after five innings.

Cordero faces charge
Boston Red Sox outfielder Wilfredo Cordero will face an additional charge in connection with allegations that he beat his wife after an early morning argument June 11, according to prosecutors.
Cordero will be arraigned Thursday in Cambridge District Court on a charge that he violated an emergency restraining order, said Brian Heffron, a spokesman for Middlesex District Attorney Tom Reilly.
Prosecutors believe Cordero returned to his first-floor waterfront apartment in Cambridge after police released him around 4 a.m., although he was specifically warned not to go home that night or contact his wife.
